Equine
Sports Breeding (ESB) was founded by Vanessa
Hawkins in 1986 and has become one of the largest and most successful breeding
programs in equestrian history with horses
competing at major international events in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, USA
and the United Kingdom.
The ESB stud has consistently produced more top-level eventing horses than any other stud in Australia with the bloodlines directly creating nine 5* horses, six 4* horses, nine 3* horses, more than thirteen 2* horses and countless 1* horses to date, as well as the Olympic silver medalist at Beijing in 2008, Megan Jones’s Irish Jester.
Irish Jester also won the 4* at Adelaide HT in 2005; won the 3* at MI3DE in 2005 & 2008; won team bronze at the WEG 2006; and was ranked No.1 eventer in the world in 2008. He was sired by ESB Irish Enough.
ESB horses have also placed at World Cup Show Jumping Championships and Grand Prix Dressage competitions. Vanessa started ESB to produce a few nice horses for herself to compete and has produced over 400 since 1986, there are currently more than 78 ESB horses registered with Equestrian Australia.
